Polish Language Publication
The White Rose Foundation wants to address anti-Semitism and xenophobia by making available a Polish translation of a monography by Dutch anthropologist Rosa Lehmann: Symbiosis and Ambivalence — Poles and Jews in a Small Galician Town (Berghahn Books, New York). By incorporating this highly accessible and educative work on Polish-Jewish history in the libraries and the curriculum of Polish schools, we intend to stimulate a community-wide discussion on inclusive citizenship in the Subcarpathia Province of Poland. This project is a joint venture with Wydawnictwo Akademickie Dialog, the publishing house responsible for the book publication, and the Municipality of Jaśliska, who will help us reach out to local schools.
Fashion for Peace
This project aims to design clothes that meet all sustainable requirements, advance the essence of minimalist beauty and support war-ridden Ukraine. The fabric that we will use will be organic, natural and/or recycled. The labor will be non-exploitative, that is, handmade in Holland, providing the basis for a sound income for our Netherland’s based design and production team. Once their ends are met, we aim to donate all profits to the Ukrainian charity organisation ‘Birds', which mission is to help where the system cannot reach. In addition, we will establish contacts with the still functioning hemp fabrics in Ukraine and use their high-end textile produce in our designs. The designs will be minimalist, simple and timeless, as they are meant to be worn for more than one season.
